Showing Up Despite the Fear of Being Laughed At

What's worse; failing at something, or being mocked for trying to attempt? Now you stand at the edge of doing something fresh, something that’s meaningful, and suddenly that little voice inside you, tends to whisper, "What if you become the joke of the day? What if you stumble on the stage, forget lines, you mispronounce something? - They all will be laughing at you!" Pretty ironic, aren't it? Imagine a fabricated minutest possibility as small as it may seem, of something going wrong and people laughing on us, can actually hold us back from pursuing what it is that we really want. Something that we know we can do well. Now here's something to think about: what if that laughter is just part of the ride? A small pebble on the road during a fabulous journey.

Picture this: you are in a crowded room, and the spotlight is focused directly onto you. Everyone is watching and waiting for you to start speaking. You've prepared yourself to take that dreaded step, you’ve well prepared yourself for. But now there is a moment of pause. Your heart is pounding, your palms are wet. But for one fraction of a second, this comes into your mind: "What if I fail? What if they all laugh at me?" That's where you make your choice and, more often than not, take the more familiar way out and slink back into the shadows.

But let’s say what if you didn't?

What would happen if you stood your ground and accepted the chances of being laughed at?

Let me tell you a story. There was this boy afraid speaking out in the public. His worst nightmare wasn't forgetting his lines or saying the wrong thing; it was that people would actually laugh at him. One day, he had to speak in front of a whole class. And, as fate will always determine for a man, he blurted out his words in a rather embarrassing way. The whole room roared with laughter. For a second, he stood there transfixed, feeling he was going down the drown in the pool of his own shame - his worst nightmare, but then out of nowhere, something extraordinary happened: he smiled. Smile grew into laughter. He laughed with them. And in that burst of laughter, he came to a realisation so profound that he would never forget it ever: their laughter didn't hurt; in fact, it freed him.

It made him realise that showing up despite being afraid of being laughed at, is way more powerful than never showing up at all. It's not the laughter that defines you—it's how you show up in spite of it. That's was a major shift in thinking. Fear of being laughed at only has power if we let it, if we allow it to stop us, if we resist it. What if, instead of letting that fear shrink us, we used it as fuel and ignite our speech with passion? Every time one laughs, it's a sign that what you are doing is bold, something others perhaps wouldn't dare to try. That's why they laugh - it makes them feel good about themselves for not trying.

It's a sign you're stepping out of your comfort zone—and that is where you choose growth over monotony, over stagnancy.

Can you think of any other thing that you didn’t do because of the fear of being judged, criticised or, mocked? GOD knows how many chances we miss out on, because of the infamous *what will they say about this? The truth is, though, laughter eventually fades away; people forget, and they walk away. But what you walk away with, is far more precious. The feeling of standing up, presenting yourself in spite of all that fear—that builds you. It just gets stronger with each passing experience.

Someone laughing at us, is just the noise. It is transitory. Showing up, however, is a choice - it's a decision you take for how you want your life to be. It is that courageous act, of letting yourself be seen, to be vulnerable, stepping toward your dreams in spite of what anyone thinks of that.

The next time you are holding back because you fear being criticised or judged, pause! Ask yourself: "Am I going to let their opinions outweigh my desire to succeed?" Show up and laugh if you have to, but don't ever stop showing up.

Being laughed at is not that bad, its inevitable in life at some point - but choosing to stand your ground makes your character Truly, showing up is the real victory.

Remember, when next time someone laughs, you'll smile back, knowing in your heart, you're onto something great.

Life UnUnderstood

No one in this living world has been ever been able to understand the meaning of life, not atleast while alive. It is so strange to take in that I want something but I cannot have it. I, being an understanding person and believer in GOD, truly understand that not everything we want can we have. Fine! I understand that but do I do about the my urge to get it. Also, what if I need something genuine? what if I want something that I think is a need for me to have and I cannot stay without. I also understand that the meaning of life is to understand life, no having everything we want. But, if we spend our whole life understand life, then when do we live it? Some might say, "....in the process". Sometimes I find people who have no understanding and need to learn life are better off as they spend time like an Ant just moving and having no brains as to where the lifes going. Even if they are diverted from their paths, they go back trying to what they are looking for. If I compare myself to these people, why do I think like this? Why can't I be like them? Why do I think? Now, the mystery of life is that it picks people, that are
predecided, will think like this. Now, the question would be that if its all predecided, then what do I have free to choose from? If the paths are decided already and so are my thoughts and behaviour, then where is the free will that is talked about?

It says that the result of Silence is Silence itself. Now, i'm silent because I'm upset, depressed or down and when I see my life with some happiness (which I take it for granted ;-)), and the rest I have struggle with. At this time if someone approaches me with kindness or shrewdness, I will not welcome it anyway cause shrewdness when you're down is obviously unaccepted and kindness from your loved ones frustates you cannot pretend anymore to be happy hiding your
sorrows. people say, you should always share your problems with your loved ones. Now, I say we cannot sometimes share problems with our loved ones because we don't want to depress then just as we are. Moreover, everyone has problems of their own and their own thoughts, so how can we give them the burden of our thoughts in addition? Now, with our frustation with both type of greeting, when we respond with unaccepted behaviour it brings out another type of ackowledgement saying how bitter is me? This further brings us another type of irritability which says, "I am bitter for some reason you dont know." In this process of hiding your sorrows and bringing out the best smile you can while at the same time you actually are a mess in your thoughts, questions: "what sort of a life is it anyway?".

Life takes you through a series of steps whether wanted or not, to make you what you have been decided to BE even before your birth, which we call as Destiny. I'm sorry this article is not for people who don't believe in Destiny as I DO and I cannĂ³t be bothered to please and explain everyone. So! What do I do when I want to become something and Destiny has soemthing else planned for me? I'm sure its better than what I have thought but STILL, I wanne be something
else as well....That is my interest. It is said, that you do what you want to and let life decide whether its for you or not. Now, I have a question? If I know it might be that this path is not for me, then why even bother wanting to step through anyway when I know all I could be doing is just wasting time. Now, that makes us understand that meaning of life is not to BE but to find out whats for you while trying everything you want on your way to BE. In this process we learn a lot about life. Sometimes, I question that Why do we need to learn about life? Thats when another question comes to my mind, would I rather understand life or would I just keeping trying without any brains that might be needed to change my strategy? The former seems a better bargain! Blaming GOD is never a good option because GOD is completely unbaised. We all have been decided will have to live our lives through. There is no short-cut. GOD does help us, in my case 100 + infinite % but at the same time, i cannot ask GOD to live my life for me. Sure, we can ask for HIS help all throughout.
Lesson learned:We all have to live our lives through and find out answers to our questions on our way walking down the aisle. No one will be able to live our lives for us. So,
we're back to where we started. Now, why did I question in the first place if I were to come back feeling OK about whats happening? I guess, thats what life is, its was a time of depression I had to suffer (which I thought will be forever) but I feel a little better now. A moment before I was in a terrible state of mind where everything was getting darker with no hopes. So, what depression....is it life or is it just a state of mind which I was in? Nevermind............!!

Introduction

Let me introduce to you of who I am..........

professionally working human, just another of the same kind but may be a bit different in some aspects lost in the world of entities - Thats WHO I am!!

have been looking at blogs all these years and didn;t understand the need for me to start my own in any circumstance. Just came up with an idea, may be a couple of minutes before, of NOT helping, NOT suggesting, NOT revolutionalising and certainly NOT transforming anyones thoughts but starting some way to DISCUSS - Thats HOW!!

No one seems to know better, no one knows more than the Victim. If we can all share what we commonly call as "problems" either by sharing our experiences or bringing out analysis of what we have seen around, may be we cannot solve one's difficulties but certainly can provide a FAMILY who ready to listen to the individual member's thoughts - Thats WHY!!

DISCLAIMER:: I strictly would like to add that every individual participating in this blog should use his own brain before taking someones ideas/suggestions and owner of this blog or any other participant cannot be held responsible for your acts. Its a sharing stage and you listen to everyone but do what you think is correct.
